Westfall-Brohuus

A brand new duo with Anders Westfall (guitar) and Ulrik Brohuus (drums), experimenting in time and space with originals and the American Songbook. They are seeking to create a full sound even though they are only guitar and drums, using loops-on-the-spot and crystal clear arrangements.

They have been playing together since high school and have been playing hundreds of concerts together, so they know how to communicate……

They both had a long trajectory on the musical jungle, Anders does so in powerful Nu jazz with Magnify, (if you like energy, check these gents out) and Ulrik, with another fresh project here http://www.attaboy.dk

Birgitte Escobar Quartet-Almost Ella'

The Brigitte Escobar Quartet - Almost Ella
The Brigitte Escobar Quartet offers a special jazz experience for music lovers. In the stylish tradition of the great Ella Fitzgerald, the quartet delivers an elegant blend of old style swing and modern day sophistication.
Brigitte's enchanting, sensual vocals combine with the cool flair of the Scandinavian jazz sound to create an irresistible jazz cocktail that leaves its audience wanting more.

Effortlessly evoking the great sounds of Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Gershwin and Cole Porter, the quartet is equally at home in the exotic world of Latin jazz, with Brigitte Escobar's South American roots lending an unmistakable authenticity.
Line up:
Brigitte Escobar: vocal
Thomas Walbum: piano
Carsten Landors: drums
Andreas Haltholt-Bass

Lutz Trio

LUTZ TRIO with special guest

Lutz Trio plays music inspired by American souljazz tradition from the 60's. References like Horace Silver, Herbie Hancock and Ramsey Lewis are some of the sources of inspiration all mixed with a tinch of Nordic Melancholy and Melody. Simple music with heart and soul! The trio is currently working on material for a forthcoming album.

Written about the trios latest release:

“The trios first release is a thoroughly swinging thing with solid roots in the past 40 years of jazz. […] In spite of the stylistic variety the release is characterized by great homogeneity, the band grooves formidably and there is plenty of energy in the interplay […]” (Nordjysk Stiftstidende)

“[…] mostly lyrical, melancholic jazz filled with interesting phrases and dynamic climaxes […]” (Der Nordschleswiger)

Line up:
Martin Lutz (Keys)
Lars Johnsen (Bass)
Ricco Victor (Drums)
TBA (special guest)

Trio Tristeza
Buenos Aires Lives in Copenhagen Tango y Vinos VinBar
20:00 hrs

Jacob Gurevitsch Spansk guitar
Kontra bas Bastian Sjelberg
Jacob Andersen Percussion
Daniel Nacach, argentinean and Malbec freak.Bottle master

This trio is certainly one of my favorites tickets home, Buenos Aires. Listening them playing is an outstanding experience, since they are very well balanced when it goes on 'brutal southern passion' and Nordic precision. Imagine something like Denmark 4000 km down south, wouldnt be far better? Thats Trio Tristeza, great latin espirit served with nordic design! I love these guys!
